ZDF Kultur goes Freestyle

That is the motto of the program from the german TV channel ZDF Kultur on november 24th. Starting at 20:45 in the evening, the channel will broadcast a 105 minute summary from this year´s BOTY final in Montpellier, France.

Battle of the Year goes Hollywood

Currently Six Step and Sony Entertainment Pictures are realizing a feature film based on the documentary film “Planet B-Boy” from 2007. Inspired by the award winning documentary, PLANET B-BOY, THE DREAM TEAM is an all-star American b-boy crew training to compete in France at the Battle of the Year (BOTY) International Championships. After a decade of defeat, the crew and their coach must go up against the best and greatest b-boys in the world: the Koreans, the Russians and the French who have dominated the original American dance form for the last 10 years.

Besides 12 Hip Hop Dance crews from the whole Rheinland area, there are also highly respected showcases such as Salah from France or Bad Newz MP on the agenda. Six Step is responsible for planning the whole activity and accomplish the event at the evening.

The Red Bull BC ONE will take place already for the 7th time on november the 27th. Venue this year will be Tokyo/Japan.
In front of around 3.000 spectators in the Yoyogi Stadium the 16 world´s best single dancers will fight in a Knock Out system for the title.
This year´s favourites are Taisuke (Japan), Thesis (USA) and Neguin (Brazil).

Redbull BC One All Stars on Tour

The Red Bull BC One All Stars which were introduced in June and who are managed by Six Step performed already in several countries. European Laboratory Of Hip Hop Dance

Together with our partners Banlieues d´Europe (Lyon), Lézarts Urbains (Brüssel), Independance (London) and The Spin Off Company (Amsterdam) the Six Step team is responsible for a dance and culture project which is funded by the European Comission of Culture. Till may 2011 an international series of workshops and master classes will take place in the cities of Hanover, Amsterdam, Brussels and London. Main goal of the project is the encouragement and education of young urban dancers.

The first Vigozone School-Tour starts on the 19th of april in Hamburg. Until 23rd of april the tour stopps in 5 different local schools in Hamburg. During the tour there will be work in five different topics with experts from the fields of theatre, music/band, rap/text, hip hop dance and event management. From 03rd till 07th of may the tour will continue in the Rheinland region in the cities of Wuppertal, Mönchengladbach and Düsseldorf.

Battle of the Year 2010 Finals in France

After 20 years of Battle of the Year in Germany the organisation team decided to move the Battle of the Year to Montpellier/France this year. Date will be the november the 20th, location "La Grande Salle" in Montpellier. Beside the big final event with all international B-Boy Crews the side programme from Battle of the Year 2009 will be continued and enlarged. Planned again is a Dance Theatre Night, a 1 vs 1 Battle, the 2 vs 2 We B-Girlz Battle, Workshops and much more.
For the organisation team the decision to leave Germany was not easyto make. The German B-Boy scene and the constant audience is really important to us. But we thought that after 20 years for the Battle of the Year it is time to move on and start something new. A comeback to Germany in the future of course is possible.
The national German BOTY qualification still will take place in Germany, date will be august 21st in the Pavillon / Hannover. After the moving of the international event we plan to enlarge the national German BOTY qualification. Planned is another Dance Theatre Night, 1 vs 1 and 2 vs 2 Battles, Workshops and more.
The international BOTY qualifications as every year will start in April / May 2010.
The BOTY Team says thank you to the German B-Boy scene, all constant supporters and to the city of Braunschweig for giving the BOTY a home from 2001 to 2009!

Feuerwerk der Turnkunst on Tour

VIGOZONE CAMP SERIES FINISHED

The fourth and last VIGOZONE camp of the year 2010 took place from 23rd to 25th october in the Villa Schaaffhausen in Bad Honnef. The slogan of the weekend was „Creativity in new media“. 20 teenagers were working with the themes of film, photography and graphic design. Guests of the weekend again were German Rapper Samy Deluxe and car racer Kati Droste.
For the end of the VIGOZONE 2010 campaign now the big final of the year party in the Cologne Stadtgarten is planned.

Red Bull B Boy Tour India 2009

From July 15th until August 1st 2009 „the Red Bull BBoy Tour India“ will take place in the biggest cities of the country: Mumbai, Delhi, Bangalore, Goa and Heyderabad. All together 4 of the most successful international breakdancers from France, Brasil, USA and South Africa will participate in the tour. Several workshops in community centers but also shows in the big clubs of the cities are scheduled. The project was prepared and will be realized in cooperation with the Six Step team.

Tricking in Amsterdam

Six Step was responsible for booking and organize the performance from "Crescent Reality" on the "Supperclub Cruise" in Amsterdam. The four tricking artists from Hannover / Hildesheim started the Sony Broadcast Event on the ship with their impressive show while the ship was leaving the harbor.
